Mike Adams, age 61, a resident of Antioch, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with David Wayne Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on January 17, 1959 in Nashville, Mike was the son of the late Sie Newton Adams and the late Mary Marie Laws Adams. He married Nancy Goar on August 11, 1978 and together they had four children. Mike was an extremely devoted family man who loved life. He was determined to take care of his family; never asking for a handout, and he instilled that mentality into his family. Mike gave the firmest handshake that any man could give. He enjoyed playing the guitar and you could often find him breaking out in dance or song. He also enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Nancy of nearly forty-two years, he is survived by his children: Tabatha Mainord of Nashville, Kelly Mainord (Alanjadro Bell) of Columbia, Charles Michael “Mikey” Adams (Felicia) of Murfreesboro, Jessica Adams of Antioch; brothers: David Wayne Adams of Leoma, William James (Peggy) Adams, Jr. of Leoma; grandchildren: Brooklin Mainord, Dixie Mainord, Jason Mainord. Levi Bell, Cayden Brown, Micaela Brown, Ariel Brown; great grandbaby on the way, Baby Daniel; and mother and father in law, Charles & Sue Goar.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Ricky, Larry, and Stevie Adams; and sister, Patricia Hooper.
Pallbearers will be: Tanner Gladden, Mikey Adams, Jason Mainord, Terry Bebout, Al Bell, and Tim Goar. Tommy Mosley will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
