Mickey Jay Higgins

  Mickey Jay Higgins, of Lester, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, in Athens, at age 74.

He was born in Texas on May 6, 1949, and was raised in Alabama by his parents, George and Anita Higgins.

Mickey enjoyed many hobbies, including collecting model trains of all scales and eras, as well as John Deere models and figurines, and was a very avid fisherman.

He is survived by a host of family and friends that he kept close for many years, including: Carl and Joan Bullion, Kelli James and Dylan Posey, David and Patty Bullion, Jake Neely, Becca Neely, Josh Bullion, Toby and Holly Lane, Aubrie Lane, and Annalise Lane.

Preceding him in death are his parents.

His fishing buddies will be taking his ashes to his favorite fishing spot, on Bear Creek, for one last fishing trip before spreading his ashes there.
