Michelle Marie Sommers, age 61 of Weaver, passed away on March 31, 2023. She was born January 11, 1962, in Elgin, IL.
She is survived by her daughter, Brandi Nichole Kay (Alan); grandchildren, Tianna (Judd), Dawson and Alyssa; great grandchild, Delilah Marie; sister, Amber Fischer; and many nieces and nephews.
Michelle was preceded in death by her son, Brett Jeffery Cox; father, George H. Sommers, Sr.; mother, Catherine D. Sommers; brothers, William Howard Sommers and George H. Sommers, Jr.; and dog, Pebbles.
She was an amazing sister, mother, Noni, Lovie, aunt, cousin and friend. She never met a stranger and was loved by everyone. Michelle majored in Photography and art at Jacksonville State University. She spent her life as a photographer, first at Walmart portrait studios, then opened her own business as Soft Innocence Photography, along with her daughter Brandi. Michelle loved dancing, singing and traveling. She also loved doing arts and crafts and was a beautiful painter. Her grandchildren and great grandchild were her pride and joy.
A time of service and fellowship will be held for Michelle on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Genesis Worship Center, 251 Rocky Hollow Road, Jacksonville, AL 36265, with Bro. Leroy Austin officiating.
