Michelle Lynn Taylor, 60, of Ripley passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022 at West Tennessee Healthcare in Dyersburg. A visitation will be held from 11 AM until 1 PM Friday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley.
Michelle was born in Pekin, IL to LaVern D. and Virginia Rose (Reynolds) Shelton. She married Danny E. Taylor on May 16, 2006 in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She grew up in the Manito area and graduated from Forman High School in 1979. She married Paul Leroy Mayhew on April 16, 1981 in St. Petersburg, FL. Mr. Mayhew passed away on June 12, 2005 in St. Petersburg, FL.
Michelle had worked in retail over 25 years at Kash and Karry, Walgreens, Dollar General, Dollar Store, and Kroger.
In 2006 Michelle and Dan rode on Old Blue (2003 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic) from Michigan to Mississippi and every state east plus a trip to Sturgis, SD. They went to 7 Motorcycle Rallies in Daytona, FL, Myrtle Beach, SC, Little Sturgis, KY, Hog Rock, IL, Rolling Thunder DC, Laconia, NH, and Sturgis, SD.
Michelle loved being around her grandchildren, riding her Harley-Davidson trike, canning, and gardening. Michelle had a huge garden of 50 x 100 feet which she loved taking care of.
In addition to Mr. Taylor, she is also survived by 4 daughters NicQue Mayhew of St. Petersburg, FL, Lisa Mitchell (Troy) of Rolla, MO, Michelle Butler and Marcie Butler both of Pekin, IL; 3 sons Paul Jacob Mayhew of St. Petersburg, FL, Jesse Taylor (Michelle) of Harrisburg, PA, and Michael Taylor (Denise) of Peoria, IL; a brother David Shelton (Debbie) of Hickory, NC; her mother Della Shelton of Bartonville, IL; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
