Michelle Kinley
On April 18th, 1961, Michelle was lovingly welcomed as the first child and only daughter of Carol and Eddie Kinley to their humble apartment in Long Island City, NY. From a tender age her parents invested in Michelle’s growth and education. Michelle was the product of Christian education and spent her formative years attending the Linden Jamaica SDA Elementary School with her two younger brothers. Together, wearing their school uniform, they would take the Q5 bus to the Jamaica station and walk to school. At an early age, Michelle enjoyed reading abundantly and playing the piano. She played classical songs and hymns enjoying her weekly music lessons from Ms. Duvall. Michelle continued to play for local church services and at home for family worship. Michelle was quiet but listened intently. She loved reading her bible, word puzzles, and watching biblical documentaries and prophecy on YouTube. During their childhood, the Kinley family often played bible trivia games in their Laurelton Queens home and Michelle was reigning champion for years. Michelle was a devoted Seventh-day Adventist and enjoyed attending and participating in weekly services until her health limited her travel.
On August 28, 1991, the joy of her life entered this world as Monique her only daughter was born. Michelle delighted in the pleasures of being a grandmother to her three beautiful and energetic granddaughters. They filled her world with immeasurable joy and laughter. She loved playing games with them, reading and teaching them about the bible.
On the evening of July 24, 2024, Michelle found rest from her long and tedious battle with heart failure. Michelle leaves to mourn her daughter Monique, Thilenius (TJ) Weems, and her 3 granddaughters, Ninah, Na’Rayah and Jayanah. Michelle is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Carol Kinley. She is survived by her two younger brothers, Eddie Kinley Jr and Kevin Kinley, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and many lifelong family friends.
