Michael Van Smelley, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Monday, June 19th, 2017 at the age of 58. His memorial service will be Friday, June 23rd, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia with Roger Lovelady officiating.
Michael was a born in Talladega and a longtime resident of the Shoals. He was a 1977 graduate of Sheffield High School and a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Smelley; brothers, John A. Smelley, Jr. and Danny Smelley; and sister, Kathy Marie Willis.
He is survived by his son Clay Doughten, of Cleveland, TN; brother, Gene Smelley (Carolyn) of Florence; sister, Patty Everett (Carlton) of Madison; sister-in-law, Kaye Smelley, of Muscle Shoals; and special friend, Sonya McNatt.
