Mr. Michael R. Jacobs, age 77, of McMinnville, TN, died Sunday, September 24, 2023, at his home near Centertown. He was born December 22, 1945, in Warren County, TN, retired after 42 years of service with Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), was a member of Barren Fork Baptist Church, attended Bluewing Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by parents R.C. and Cleo Davenport Jacobs, twin sisters Karen and Cathy Jacobs, and a brother Timothy Jacobs. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, and raise a garden.
Mike was married to Deanna Kay Michael Jacobs and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this upcoming Thursday, Sept. 28th. Also surviving is their son and daughter-in-law Michael Shane and Shonda Jacobs, grandchildren Kyrsten (Cody) Johnson, Caitlin (Colby) Mooneyham, Shayna Jacobs, and Shyera Jacobs, great-grandchildren Kayleigh and Jackson Johnson, great grand-dog Atlas Merrit Mooneyham, a sister Sandra (Billy) Nunley, a brother Danny Joe (Lisa) Jacobs, and sister-in-law Cindy Jacobs. Numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and former and fellow co-workers from TDOT and many friends.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 P.M. Noon Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Dave Dawson and Colby Mooneyham will officiate. Interment will follow at Centertown Cemetery. The Jacobs Family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. Noon in the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
