Funeral service for Michael “Mike” Lynn Stewart, age 57, of Danville, will be Sunday, October 20, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W.G. Henry officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Stewart, who died Friday, October 18, 2013, at his residence, was born December 19, 1955, in Morgan Co., to Jay Lee Stewart and Hilda Ledlow Stewart.
Mr. Stewart graduated from Austin High School in 1974, he was employed by UPS for 32 years. He was a Deacon at Five Points Christian Church and in the Christian Motorcyclist Association for 9 years in which he traveled to 19 different states on his motorcycle. He was a loving husband, brother, son, father, grandfather, but most of all a Christian man.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Kay Williams Stewart, one son Chris Stewart and daughter Maegan Stewart both of Decatur. Three brothers Steve Stewart (Susan) of Florence, Jeff Stewart (Shelia) of Decatur and Greg Stewart (Angie) of Jacksonville, AL. One grandson, Cash.
Pallbearers will be Steve Stewart, Jeff Stewart, Greg Stewart, Gary Ledlow, Jeb Stewart and Paden Stewart.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
