Mr. Michael “Mike” Felton Goodson, age 67, of Lacey’s Spring the Morgan City area, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at his residence.
Mr. Goodson was born on June 25, 1952 in Morgan County to Edward Felton Goodson & Betty Jeanette Barryman Goodson. He was married to the late Deborah “Debbie” Jeanet Lawrence Goodson who passed on September 19, 2016. He retired from Dephi in Decatur where he worked as a machinist. He enjoyed riding around with his buddies, riding 4 wheelers, fishing and shooting turtles. Mr. Goodson was skillful with his hands and was always tinkering in wood work. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter & grandchildren.
He was a member of Brindlee Mtn. Baptist Church.
Mr. Goodson is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Megan Goodson Johnson & Eric; grandchildren, Alyssa Johnson, Canaan Johnson; brother, Ralph Edward Goodson. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward Felton Goodson & Betty Jeanette Barryman Goodson; wife, Deborah “Debbie” Jeanet Lawrence Goodson.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home, Morgan City. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery with Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home & Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home, Morgan City.
