Michael “Mike” Curtis Jones, age 65, of Rogersville, passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2012.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence. Services will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel, with President Gary Pettus, Steve Jones and Scott Jones officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery.
Mike was preceded by his father, Curtis Jones; mother, Nell P. Jones; and a cousin, the Rev. Bob T. Jones.
He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Nita Jones; his children, Chyne Jones (Paula), Heather Farr (Steve), Heath Jones (Chelsea) and Clint Jones; grandchildren, Seth, Patton, Haleigh, Landon and Jacob Jones, Kinley and Sutton Farr; cousins, Steve Jones (Nancy) and Debbie Jones (and the late Rev. Bob T. Jones).
Mike was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Masonic Lodge No. 147, of Rogersville.
He was a graduate of Central High School. Mike was a proud veteran of the Army and Navy serving in the Vietnam War two tours and earned several metals. He loved riding his motorcycles and spending time with his friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Shriners Hospital or St. Jude’s in Mike Jones name.
