Michael James Black, 61 of Cherokee, formerly of Petersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018. There will be a military graveside at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Nashville National Cemetery, Madison, TN.
Mike was a native of Michigan and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Era. H was retired from General Motors and was preceded in death by his father, James Black; mother, Reva Bailey; daughter, Penny Lee Black; and brother, Terry Black.
Mike is survived by his sons, Michael James Black II and Matthew Robert Black; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Bridgers and Kathleen Louise Marks (Justin); sister, Reva Jo Burkett; 3 grandchildren, Russell James Bridgers, Jaylyn Penny Marks, and Kolesyn Monroe Marks; and the mother of his children, Diane Downing Black.
