Michael Dennis Olson, 63 of Tuscumbia passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Visitation will Monday, November 6th from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Shane Swinney officiating and Ralph Glover, David Gray, and Sam Moody sharing.
Mike was a retired instrument technician and trainer with TVA Brown’s Ferry. He was a member of the IBEW Local 765 and Central Park Baptist Church, Decatur, AL and was preceded in death by his mother, Glennis Hurst Olson.
Mike is survived by his special friend and caregiver, Angie Woodis; father, Jerry Olson; sons, Nathan Shea and Jason Michael Olson; brother, Jerry Randall “Randy” Olson; sisters, Jenipher Olson Patterson; and granddaughter, Leila Katherine Olson.
Honorary pallbearers include Chuck Eaves, Leon Smith, Paul Malone, Dr. Andre Taylor, and Dr. Ed Holden.
The family expresses special thanks to the ICU staff and respiratory department at ECM Hospital, Dr. Andre Taylor, and especially Dr. Ed Holden.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Beggs Laboratory at Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston, MA.
