Mike (Mikey to some) was born on January 5, 1962, to Laymon D. Colbert and Faye T. Light (Jacks) in Gurly, Alabama.
He was beloved by everyone who ever met him, a great husband, fantastic father, amazing Poppie, and a best friend in all walks of life. No matter the circumstance, you’d always leave with a story of something funny/crazy Mike did while you were with him. Hands down the best jokes, and one heck of a memory, crazy smart.
Mike loved anything Baseball, Alabama Football, Golfing, Dallas Cowboys Football, Traveling, Camping, and spending time with his family and friends. One of his greatest accomplishments is being called “Poppie” to his 8 grandchildren. Mike was married to Patty Colbert and recently celebrated 38 years of marriage.
Mike is survived by his wife Patty Colbert, his son Michael Colbert, his daughters Nicole Barnette and Amanda (Husband Jordan) Blevins of whom he loved deeply.
