Michael D. Atkins, 41, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Decatur Hospital.
Mr. Atkins was a native of Ozark, Alabama, but had lived in Franklin County for several years. He was employed as a maintenance worker with Decatur General Hospital.
The funeral service will be Monday, November 4, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Ferguson Cemetery, Lawrence County, Alabama. Officiating will be Jerry Pounders. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 3, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Survivors include wife, Treisa Ann Atkins; children, Courtney Breann Atkins (Chase Terry), Michael DeWayne Atkins, Jr., and Jennifer LeAnn Atkins, all of Russellville; grandchildren, Cooper Bryant Terry and Trayson Kartar Atkins; parents, Juanita and Ken Atkins, Russellville; sisters, Christy (Donald) Miller, Russellville, and Mandy (Joey) Harville, Tuscaloosa; brother, Andy Atkins, Russellville; father-and mother-in-law, Margie and Alvie Mears, Russellville; sisters-in-law, Felicia (Donnie) Johnson, and Mandy (Jesse) Nelms, both of Russellville; brother-in-law, Chris (Jana) Mears, Russellville; numerous nieces and nephews.
