Michael A. Collier, 69, died at his home on Friday, June 23, 2023. He was born in Tupelo, MS on July 10, 1953 to the late Charlie Eddins and the late Charlene Collier. He was raised by his grandparents, Murry and Ollie Mae Collier, who preceded him in death. Michael and Rosetta Edwards united in holy matrimony on July 20, 1991. He attended Carver High School and later in life worked as a truck driver for Roadway Trucking and other trucking companies until his health failed. At an early age he joined Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church of Tupelo where he served the Lord faithfully as an Usher until his death. His love of motorcycles led him to be a former member of Smooth Ryderz MC, and his love of Corvettes led him to be one of the founding members of the Rydin Smoove Corvette Club of Tupelo, MS. He also served his country with honor in the Mississippi National Guard.

A service celebrating Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 1 PM at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church located at 2335 Clayton Rd, Tupelo, MS 38804. The family will receive friends at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo on Friday June 30, 2023 from 4 to 6 PM. Michael is survived by his loving wife of almost 32 years, Rosetta Edwards Collier; two (2) daughters, Sabrina Collier, Belden, MS and LaQueda Collier, Ripley, MS; three (3) children that he gained through marriage that he considered his own: Aretha (Kevin) Nabors, James (Laquita) McGaughy, of Tupelo, MS; Nakita Doss (Stiles), TN. Eight (8) siblings: Brenda K. Hudson, Columbus, MS; Barbara Mitchell, Brenda Eddins Bey, Bernadette Eddins, Bernice Daniel, Belinda Eddins, Sharon Eddins Herron, and Mark Eddins, all of New York. Two (2) aunts, Mary Green, Belden, MS and Hazel White, Beloit, WI; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
