Micah D. Whitten departed this life on December 17, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 51 Years, 11 Months, 16 Days. He was born January 1, 1963 in Selmer, TN the son of Norma S. Smith Whitten of Stantonville, TN and the late Arnold Preston Whitten.
Mr. Whitten was a retired Tennessee State Trooper with 23 years of service.
He was a member of the former Gospel Light Baptist Church in Selmer, TN.
He is survived by a daughter, Katie Courtwright and husband Michael of Chattanooga, TN; a son, Joseph Whitten of Stantonville, TN; his mother, Norma S. Whitten of Stantonville; a brother, Barry Whitten and wife Angie of Stantonville, TN; four nieces, Megan Scott, Morgan Scott, Brittany Whitten, Bridget Whitten and a host of extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
