HARTSELLE-Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin released a statement on the discovery of meth labs in Hartselle:

“On Wednesday, April 20th, 2016, the Morgan County Drug Task Force and Hartselle Police Department executed a search warrant at 608 Gable Circle SW, in Hartselle. Agents had been investigating the homeowner, Shelly Diana Smith, 32, for several weeks. Agents learned through the investigation that Smith was allowing people to come over and cook methamphetamine at her residence in exchange for money. Smith was also providing cold medicine containing pseudoephedrine to meth cooks. Agents learned that Smith had a child in the residence, also. The residence is located just 2 blocks from Crestline Elementary School.

Glenn, 50, of Falkville. Agents located 8 one-pot meth labs, lithium batteries, coffee filters, pseudoephedrine, lye, and syringes. The child wasn’t at home during the execution of the search warrant. DHR was called to the scene and placed the child in custody of the relative.

Agents charged Smith with two counts of Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 1st, two counts of Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and one count of Drug Endangerment of a Child. Her bond is set at $170,000.00. Glenn was charged with Loitering in a drug house. His bond is set at $300.00, Glenn also had active warrants with Morgan County for FTA.
