Funeral for Mervin Owens, age 89, of Decatur will be Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Owens, who died Thursday, August 18, 2022, at his residence, was born February 28, 1933, to Emmett and Pearlie Mae Owens. He was a member of Beltline Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter – Becky Thomas, brother – Edward Owens, and grandson – Calvin Easterly
Survivors include:
Loving wife of 69 years – Bernice Owens
Daughters- Bridget Easterly and Denise Rose (Steve)
Brother – Kenneth Owens
Son-in-law – Larry Thomas
Grandchildren – Jessica McLendon, Nick Reid, Ryan Easterly, Joy Easterly, Terry-Lynn Easterly, Melanie Flynt (Raece), and Julianna Woolard (Nathan)
Great-grandchildren – Ava McLendon, Anna McLendon, McCauley Flynt, Asher Woolard, and Adeline Woolard
Pallbearers will be family.
