Mervee Tune Benson, age 90, of Florence, Alabama, died, Saturday, July 18, 2015. The visitation will be Monday, July 20th from 6-9:00p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will be Tuesday, July 21st at 2:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Bro. Earl Rich and Bro. Jimmy McGee will be officiating. Burial will be at Bumpus Creek Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband Loyal Benson; brothers, John D. Tune and Willard Tune; sisters Gertie Tune Craig, Olean Tune Shutt and Ann Elizabeth Putt; son, Jack Benson; grandchildren, Wanda Sparks, Vivian Hanback, Amber Benson, and Lakean Benson.
Pallbearers will be Brad Lewis, Keith Lewis, Chris Benson, Daniel Benson, Roger Benson, Kenny Benson, Justin Benson and Jeremy Benson.
Survivors include her sons, Raymond Benson (Peggy), Danny Benson (Patsy) and Sammy Benson; daughters, Ruth Lewis (Hubert) and Linda Russell (James); brothers, Ray Tune (Nancy) of New Albany and Lane Tune of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Louise Tune Reid of Savannah, Nadine Tune Hinton of Waterloo, Nellie Tune Lyon of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Cora Tune Hosea of Savannah, Tennessee, Betty Tune Wilson of Sanatobia, Mississippi, Faye Boyette, of Tupelo, Carlene Davis of Tupelo, and Karen McGee of Tupelo; 18 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
