Mertie Sullivan Murray, 87, of Jasper, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
Family will be receiving friends on Monday, May 1, 2023, from 1 until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Curry Cemetery. Randy Barnes will officiate.
Mertie was a long time member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She loved serving her Lord and singing in the choir. She retired from Walker Baptist Medical Center and Jasper Bra Factory. Mertie served many years as a volunteer at Walker Baptist. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, making quilt tops and growing beautiful flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Murray; parents, Haywood and Bertha Sullivan; brothers, James Sullivan and Leon Sullivan.
She is survived by her daughters, Deb Aaron (Don) and Rhonda Davis (Dewight); grandchildren, Beth Aaron Brantley, Jake Aaron, Brandi Pilgrim, Katie Woods, Haley Davis, Breanna Davis and Nikki Davis; great grandchildren, Peyton Woods, Riley Woods, Kobe Haywood, Jayden Haywood and Aiden Kilgore; siblings, Louise Vanhorn, Agnes Clark, Walter Sullivan, Elsie Clark, Paul Sullivan and Kathy Wilkins; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
