Melvin Wheeler Jackson age 82 of Athens, passed away April 25, 2015 at Limestone Health Facility. Mr. Jackson was born August 10, 1932 in Cherokee, AL to Arthur Melvin Jackson and Alice Elliott Jackson.
Services will be Tuesday, April 28, 2015 1:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bill Irby officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson was a member of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by a sister, Vernell Riddle.
Survived by a special friend, Betty Hester; two daughters, Sherry Forrester of Muscle Shoals, AL and Gina Henderson of Little Rock, AR; three grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Laubenthal, Doug Saski, Tommy Key, Bobby Bassham, Smith Benjamin and Steve Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Oliver, Ray Horton and Ronnie Symaek.
