Melody Lynn Jaco Zelinski of Madison, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday. She was 77. Melody was a kind and giving person who was always willing to help others and was loved by all who knew her.
Melody was born in Johnson City, Arkansas and as part of a military family, she had the privilege of living in many places around the world. Her permanent residence eventually became the Madison, Alabama area where she and her late husband, Joe, resided for 36 years. She was a devout member of Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church.
She had a passion for interior decorating and had owned Grand Interiors Furniture Store. While in North Carolina, she pioneered in designing one of the first birthing rooms for a hospital there. She and her husband enjoyed helping others and had operated a renovated school bus called The Rolling Store that they used to deliver fresh produce to senior adults in retirement communities around Huntsville at a discounted price.
She was also a real estate sales professional in the area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Zielinski, by her brother, Roderick Jaco, and by her parents, Leo & Wilma Jaco.
Surviving family members include her daughter, Terresa Gowen (Robert Pears); her daughter, Marishka Gregory; her granddaughter, Amanda Freeman (Tevin Freeman); her great-grandchildren: Trinity Freeman and Luka Freeman; Her sister, Glecia Hunt; her brothers: Keith Jaco (Janice) and Edd Jaco (Joey Morgan); her adopted sister, Leonie Wright; She is also provided by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will have visitation on Thursday from 10AM until 11:30AM at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. A Rosary service will follow at 11:30AM and funeral Mass at Noon, also at the church. A reception will follow from 1PM until 3PM.
