Melissa Dawn Moore, 47, went to be with our Lord peacefully on April 7, 2024, at the Baldwyn Nursing Home. She was born November 6, 1976, in Amory, to Jimmy Mike and Beulah Faye Sheffield Franks. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Peaceful Valley. She was self-employed. She loved working in her flower beds, fishing, cooking for her family, and going on weekly trips to thrift stores and yard sales with her sister, Rhonda. She had a green thumb and she loved life.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Ronnie Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of ten years, Bennie Joe Moore; her mother, Faye Sheffield Franks of Fulton; two sisters, Rhonda Clayton (Keith) of Guntown, and Selena Ragsdale of Baldwyn; one brother, Mikeal Franks (Maryann) of Peaceful Valley; three nieces, Megan Milam (Nick) of Belmont, Ashley Thomas of Mooreville, and Amber Vandevander of Baldwyn; three nephews, Derreck Franks (Kelsey) of Peaceful Valley, Jordan Lindsey, and Kodee Shelby, both of Baldwyn.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Mike Franks; her grandparents, Basil and Mae Evelyn Sheffield; one aunt, Rae Suddieth; one uncle, James Sheffield.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Lindsey, Kodee Shelby, Jake Shelton, Matthew Beasley, Nick Milam, and Derreck Franks.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
