Funeral for Melissa Dale Downs, 64 of Decatur will be on Tuesday November 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel. With Randy Jones, Becky Alexander, Devin Hudson officiating. Burial will be at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Downs who died on Friday Nov. 13, 2015 at UAB in Birmingham. She was born on October 16, 1951 in Decatur Ala to Lewis and Aldath Nichols.
She was a member of City Church in Decatur; she was surrounded by her family at her death. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

15 Grandchildren.
