Melinda Gail Thomas, 73, of Elkmont, Alabama passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at her home.
Mrs. Thomas has lived in the Elkmont area for the majority of her life where she was a member of Elkmont Church of Christ. She enjoyed helping her daughter create floral arrangements, camping on the river, as well as spending time with her family.
Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Weasley Dison and Bessie Lee Hargrove Dison, her husband, Billy Wayne Thomas, as well as one sister, Barbara Carroll.
She is survived by one son, Jeff (Leigh) Thomas, one daughter, Melissa Carter, two brothers, Larry (Judy) Dison and David (Linda) Dison, six sisters: Betty Emerson, Ruth (Gerald) Mitchell, Trish (Maridon) Mullins, Dean (Delmer) Perry, Vicki (Dennis) Byford, and Regina (Steve) Johnson, four grandchildren: Josh (Ciera) Carter, Sgt. Jessica Carter, Jacob Thomas, and Cody (Cierra) Thomas, as well as nine great grandchildren: Reese, Marley, Maverick, Raven, Braylon, Tanner, Kensleigh, Everleigh, and Cheyenne.
There will be a visitation held for Mrs. Thomas at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A Chapel Service will be held following visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Bro. Steve Ferguson will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
