Funeral service for Melinda Ann McBride, age 40, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Medium Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Higgins Funeral Home.
Melinda was born on October 21, 1982. She was a 2001 graduate of Lincoln County High School and of the Baptist faith. Ms. McBride was the former branch manager of Credit Central in Fayetteville.
Melinda was first and foremost proud of her children. They were her greatest joys. She was a surrogate mom for the children in the neighborhood and never passed up sharing this love with all children. Melinda was carefree and fun loving. She never passed up the opportunity to play pranks on her family and friends. She treated every person she met with care and empathy. Ms. McBride passed away on August 4, 2023, in Petersburg, TN, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Survivors include her mother, Lynn (Butch) Stubblefield; children, Macayla Pierce (fiancé, Brandon Cuevas), Damien Shelton, Josie Shelton, and Gabriel Shelton; sisters, Amanda McBride and Andrea (Jeremy) Lee; brother, Murray (Mary Alice) Stubblefield; nieces, Cora Carter and Abigail Lee; nephews, Daniel Carter and Joseph (Savanna) Patterson; great-niece, Layla Patterson; great-nephew, Jack Patterson; special family, Eli Wolfe and Destiny Wolfe; and grandfather, Tommy McBride. Ms. McBride was preceded in death by her father, Billy Ray McBride.
