Melba-Talley-1460561196Services for Melba Lavada Talley, 86, of Walnut, MS are set for 1:00pm Friday, April 15, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church – Walnut, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 5:00pm-10:00pm and Friday, April 15, 2016 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church – Walnut, MS. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born September 2, 1929 to the late Caleb and Elma Crum Bright in Walnut, MS , Mrs. Talley was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons: James Talley (Martha) of Walnut, MS and Jerry Talley (Dana) of Walnut, MS: 7 Grandchildren: Todd Talley (Allison), Jonathan Talley (Jennifer), Clay Talley (Ashley), Cindy Bullard (Eric), Dustin Talley (Geana), Craig Pevahouse and Caitlyn Pevahouse :
11 Great-Grandchildren : a brother: Paul Bright of Walnut, MS; two sisters: Angel McMahan of Walnut, MS and Anne Martin of Walnut, MS; special friends: Eva Joyce James and Dot Fiveash ;
other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 Years: William Franklin Talley; her father: Caleb Bright; her mother: Elma Crum Bright; brothers: Hoover Bright and Harold Bright; sisters: Vertie Nelson, Earline Bright, Evie Crum, Cheerful Bobo and Joyce Crum. Pallbearers will be James Smith, Charles Russell, Jimmy Tate Waldon, Larry Bright, Robert Bright and Bengee Bright. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jerry Newcomb.
Bro. Joe Spencer and Rev. Merl Dixon will officiate the service.
