MELBA J AMBERSON

MARCH 16, 1944 – DECEMBER 6, 2020

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 on Wednesday December 9, 2020 at Forrest Cemetery for Melba Jean Amberson, of Gadsden, who passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Rev. Larry Fuhrman and Rev. J.T. Harrell will officiate. Collier Butler Funeral Home is directing. Ms. Amberson is preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Minerva Amberson and sisters, Helen Carpenter and Audrey Hill. She is survived by her sister Louise Spruiell; niece Lori McHone; nephew Sonny Carpenter, and niece Stephanie Lowry (Brent); great nieces and nephews Kathryn McHone, Richard McHone, Ashton Lowry, and Elsie Lowry. The Lord is her shepherd. She shall not want. He gave her rest in green pastures. He led her to calm water. He gave her strength. He led her on the paths of righteousness. He restored her soul. He led her through the Valley of the Shadow of Death and she feared no evil, for He was with her. His goodness and love followed her all the days of her life and now she dwells in the house of the Lord forever. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, 2681 Rocky Ridge Lane, Birmingham, AL. 35216. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.collier-butler.com for the AMBERSON family.
