I know that sounds really great so let me tell you what we are going to do.  On Saturday, August 20, 2016, the Town of Rogersville is sponsoring “Rockin the River” at Joe Wheeler State Park.   There will be music, fun and games on the river.

McCutcheon & Hamner is helping to sponsor the event but more importantly we are going to raise money (with your help) for the Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department.  We are going to bring a motor home and we will be there and we will be there to write wills for people who make a donation of $25.00 or more to the Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department.

We will talk with you about what your options are in terms of a will and what you can do and what other people commonly do.  We will be happy to talk with you about what your goals are and how we can help you accomplish them.  We won’t charge a dime.  The wills be ready the following week at our office so that they may be signed, witnessed and notarized in accordance the law made for self-proving wills.

A lot of married couples do reciprocal wills that give everything to the other spouse and upon their death, to the children to share and share alike, per stirpes.  I like this type of will because when a spouse dies the other spouse inherits everything and then upon the death of the last surviving spouse, the children get what their parents had.

One really valuable feature of a self-proving will is the relief from the costs of a bond.  A bond for an estate can be very expensive and there is no need to impose that costs on your family.  If you don’t have a will that is properly worded, they will have to buy a bond.

Come out on Saturday, August 20, 2016 and help us help others.

Buckle up and drive safely.
