May Dell “Patsy” Shoemaker, 79, of Killen, Ala., passed away July 6, 2013, after an extended illness.
She was a homemaker and a member of North Carolina Church of Christ.
Survivors include husband, Charles Edward Shoemaker Sr.; sons, Charles Edward Shoemaker Jr. (Terry) and Robert Wayne Shoemaker (Candace); daughter, Lesa Dell Shoemaker Johnson (Mike); brothers, Robert Lee Richardson Jr. (Alice), Dorris Richardson and Dennis Richardson (Alice); sisters, Audrey Eloise Wright and Helen Jones (Charlie); grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Shoemaker (Britney) and Jordan Lee Shoemaker.
Mrs. Shoemaker was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Ester James Richardson; brother, James Richardson; and sister, Virgie Robinson.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at North Carolina Church of Christ, with Brother Glen Richardson and Brother Miles Stutts officiating. The casket will lie in state 10-11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in North Carolina Cemetery. Joshua and Jordan Shoemaker will officiate at the burial.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Shoemaker, Gene Richardson, Phillip Truitt, Tom McCafferty, Ronnie Putnam, Robbie Richardson and Charles Clemons. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Shoemaker, Neil Robinson and Alton Parker.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health (especially Mary Ann, Beverly, Donna and Keith), Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home staff, Dr. Auxier, and Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care given Patsy during the past few months.
Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
