Maxine Rea Hicks Profile Photo Maxine Rea Hicks, 84 of Haleyville, Alabama, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at Lakeland Community Hospital.

She was born June 8, 1939 to James and Sarah Bohannon. Maxine was a devout Christian and attended The Lighthouse Church in Bear Creek.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Winston Memorial Cemetery. Pastor James Yielding will officiate.

Maxine is survived by her grandchildren, Jonathan Rea (Skylar Robbins), Jeffery (Haley) Rea, Candie Rea (Mary Bradley), Marie Wilson, Thomas Rea, Bobby Rea, Lexus Mitchell, Kassie Roberts, Brandon Rea, Chase Rea, and a host of many other grandchildren; great grandchildren, Destiny Hairrell, Emily Hairrell, Jackson Rea, Ella Rea, Hudson Rea, and a host of many other great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, Mila Kellam and Raya Kellam; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband L.C. Hicks; sons, Jim Rea, Justin Rea, Jerry Rea, Rick Rea, and David “Dee” Rea; parents, James and Sara Ellin Bohannon; brothers and sisters, Betty Bohannon, Gene Bohannon, Ruby Bohannon, Delmar Bohannon, Dorothy Bohannon, Arley Bohannon, Sidney Bohannon, and Nellie Bohannon.
