Funeral service for Maxine Powell Curtis, 81, will be Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Wallace officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Curtis died on Sunday, June 2, 2024. She was born December 4, 1942, in Morgan County, to Edd Powell and Viola Foote Powell.
Maxine was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church, (Now Salem Community Church). She was a Real Estate agent in Hartselle for many years. She began with Sibley Real Estate then opened her own business of Curtis, Powell and Hill. Most recently, she worked for MarMac Real Estate in Hartselle, from which she retired 2 years ago. Maxine worked tirelessly and was rewarded for her hard work with many awards and acknowledgments over the years. She was a true people person who never met a stranger and made many new friends in her business. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Jimmie Ruth Hill, Dorothy Coleman and Gearldine Hill.
