Maxine Parrish, age 86, of Blountsville, Alabama (formerly of Birmingham) died Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman. A graveside service will be held at Roswell Creek Cemetery at 11:00 am on July 11, 2023, with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing. Maxine was born August 1, 1936, in Blount County.
A member of Roswell Creek Baptist Church (Blountsville) who formerly attended Berney Points Baptist Church (Birmingham), she was predeceased in death by her mother, Ida Cason Parrish; father, Lonnie Jay Parrish; sisters, Betty Parrish and Lillian Wood; brothers, James Redford Parrish and Ray Parrish. Survivors include three sisters, Daphine Munson of Birmingham, Dorothy (Timothy) Osborne of Cape Coral, Florida, and Barbara Parrish of Blountsville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Maxine was a retired Office Manager with Alabama Auto Parts and also worked with EBSCO Industries and Colonial Bank. Maxine always had a practical mind, a caring word, a sharp wit, a sweet tooth, and was a loyal, energetic Crimson Tide fan, attending football games until the last few years of her life. She was an avid reader of mysteries, inspirational works, and the Bible, and especially loved reading every page of the newspaper. She loved her family deeply and was a kind, generous woman.
