Maxine Hattie Ballard – Obituary

Maxine Hattie Ballard, 87, Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Shoals Hospital surrounded by her family.

 

Mrs. Ballard was a longtime member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church.   She enjoyed baking for her family; and was well known for her delicious cakes.   She was a God fearing woman, loving mother and grandmother, and foster grandparent, who was loved by all who knew her.

 

The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel.   Bro. Dennis Steward and Bro. Keith Prince will be officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Bill Goodwin (wife, Cathy), Kevin Ballard (wife, Kathy), Sharon Hendrix (husband, David); grandchildren, Mark Goodwin, Jennifer Goodwin, Allison Goodwin, Melena Ballard, Lori Pace, Aaron Ballard, Kim Biro, Meaghan Martin, Haley Keeton, Dylan Hendrix; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Ballard; son, Ken Ballard; parents, Claude & Estella Dickinson; siblings, Buren (Doreen), Mattie (Fred), Onieda (Ralph), Willard (Joyce), and Marveline.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. True, Dr. Ridgeway, Dr. Mishra, Dr. Longmire, Dr. Rose, ICU nurses at Shoals Hospital; and nurses and staff of 4th floor for your love and care of our mom.
