Mr. Lambert passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at North MS Medical Center in Iuka, MS. He was born October 10, 1934 in Burnsville, MS to Sherman Lambert and Frankie Horn Lambert. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Apostolic Friendship Chapel. He worked with Little Brothers Construction and then later with Ray D Glidewell building homes all across Alcorn County. After retiring, he could be found at Rainbow Park ready to talk to anyone that came by. His hobby was making sure the grass at home was always cut and every leaf was raked and burned. He figured anything less was the sign of a lazy man. Maxie is survived by his wife of 69 years, Edna Gray Lambert; his sons, Ronnie Lambert (Christine) and Terry Lambert; his daughter, Kim Lambert; 9 grandchildren, Joshua Lambert (Amanda), Joseph Lambert, Tanya Lambert, Rachael Lambert, Jonathan Lambert, Rhiannon Lambert, Lily Kress, Connor Lambert and Luke Lambert; 8 great grandchildren; his brother, Thomas Lambert (Debbie); his sisters, Alma Lou Morton and Juanell Potts (Nelson); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Lambert; his mother, Frankie Horn Lambert; his brothers, Ronald Lambert, Allen Lambert and Arthur Lambert and his sister Mozell Linton. The family wants to issue a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Tishomingo Manor for taking care of Maxie for the last several months.
