Max Griswell was born March 7, 1932 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Logan Street and Tressie Mae Matlock Griswell.
Mr. Griswell was a mechanic for Selmer Utility Department for over 35 years, he retired at the age of 78. He attended Christian Assembly Pentecostal Church in Adamsville, Tennessee. He enjoyed fishing, building birdhouses and working on lawnmowers. He was in the National Guard from 1948-1952.
Mr. Griswell departed this life on October 3, 2015 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 6 Months, 26 Days. He is survived by his wife Rachel (Lewis) Griswell of Bethel Springs, TN; two sons, Burley Dean Griswell of Ramer, TN, Robert Earl Griswell and wife Patricia of Adamsville, TN; a daughter, Pauline Jeanette Taylor of Selmer, TN; stepson, William Perry Price of Selmer, TN; five grandchildren, Christina Olivo, Martha Ray, Pattie McEunn, Miranda Griswell, Brittiney Taylor; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Johnny Griswell and wife Sue of Michie, TN; a sister, Nell Knight and husband Bub of Bolivar, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Griswell was preceded in death by 1st wife, Pauline Kiser Griswell; 2nd wife, Vernell Wardlow Griswell; a son, Richard Wayne Griswell; two brothers, Paul and Earl Griswell; a sister, Sue Wilson.
