Mavis Ruth Lewter 86, of Athens,AL died Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Limestone Health and Rehab, Athens, Alabama. She lived in the Ardmore area all her life and was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Ardmore.
She was born on Monday, October 10, 1932 in Ardmore, AL, she was the daughter of the late Buster Barnes and Myrtle Hastings Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter C. Lewter; daughter, Pat Collins.
She is survived by her son, Dale (Pat) Lewter, Elkmont, AL; son-in-law, James Collins, Ardmore, AL; 4 grandchildren, Kim (Matt) Campbell, Athens, AL, Brandon (Jessica) Lewter, Winchester, TN, Susan Collins, Ardmore, AL, Jim (Missy) Collins, Columbus, IN; 5 great grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews and a special care giver, Prissy Haddock, Rogersville, AL.
Public/Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jim Collins officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
