Maurine Wales Tillery, 89 of Elkmont, Alabama died on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Athens Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Monday, August 16, 1926 in Elkmont, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Fault Marvin Wales and the late Ora Daisy Hill Wales. She was the wife of Elzie Alvis Tillery. She was a lifelong resident of the Elkmont area and a member of Boyd’s Chapel Methodist Church. She loved her family and liked to eat. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings: Ronald Wales, Flossie Hastings, Bunia Hogan, Bessie Hastings, and Ruby Davis.
Surviving are son, Brent Anthony and wife Marie Pohl Tillery of Suwanee, GA, grandchildren: Tammy (Mitchel) Whitley of Lexington, KY, Jacqueline (Scott) Nipper of Peru, IN, and Ric Holifield of Atlanta, GA, and 5 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Mike Morelan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
