Graveside services for Mrs. Maudine L. Griffin, age 91 of Lineville, will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with David Benefield officiating.
Mrs. Griffin passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Clay county where she grew up, had lived in the Atlanta area for several years before settling back in Clay County in 1973. She had worked for several years at Higgins Mfg., Russell Corp, and retired after more than 20 years of service at Amerace Manufacturing in Lineville. Maudine was a very hard working woman and spent many hours working in her yard, gardening, and taking care of her flowers. She was very fortunate to be physically fit late in life and was able to work in her yard and play with her many grand and great-grandchildren until just recently.
She is survived by her two daughters, Wanda Carnes of Hampton, GA. and Becky Geems of Lineville, her son, David Griffin (Vicki) of Lineville, 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great -great -grandchild, and one brother, Dick Lumpkin (Vivian) of Lithia Springs, GA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Dawson Lumpkin and Ethel Williams Lumpkin, her husband, Elton Griffin, 2 sisters, Florence Barfield, Maxine Hubbard, and brothers, Ernest, Millard, Willard, R.V., John, and Burl Lumpkin.
Pallbearers are Josh Ivy, Dustin Griffin, David Curtis Griffin, Alan Hubbard, Lee Hubbard, and Chris Hurst.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
