Mrs. Mattie “Merle” Bowen, age 88 of Horton, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023. A Visitation will be held Monday, May 08, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 pm, in the chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 09, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Liberty Hill Baptist Church of Horton, with Brother Neal Chaffin officiating and Dr. Derrick Wilson speaking. Mrs. Bowen will lie-in-state at the church at 1:00 pm till the time of service, and burial will follow services at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Merle is survived by her daughters Pamela Bradshaw (Jim), Lawanna McCamy (Leon), and Heather Weaver; son Ronny Bowen (Alice); grandchildren Dr. Derrick Wilson (Connie), Amanda Conn (Jeff), Nathan McCamy (Ashley), Josh McCamy (Victoria), Madeline Weaver, Kirstin Weaver, and 4 step-grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Winnie Edwards; husband James “Buck” Bowen; 5 sisters and 1 brother.
Pallbearers will include Mike Wilson, Sam Wilson, Cy Wilson, Jayden Conn, Nathan McCamy and Josh McCamy.
In lieu of flowers the family has request donations be made to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice of Marshall County. Thank you.
