Mattie Lee Shook Kalmbach, age 60, of Russellville, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center.
She was a special lady who loved her husband, her boys, her family and friends. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Even though she couldn’t swim, she enjoyed fun times around the swimming pool and being outdoors. She was a faithful member of Charity Chapel Church. She was always willing to help someone.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 38 years, John Kalmbach, Sr. sons, James Eric Hines, John Kalmbach, Jr., Adam Lee Kalmbach; grandchildren, Rowdy Hines, Karlie Kalmbach, Kingsley Kalmbach, Aspen Kalmbach, Avery Kalmbach, Sophie Ligon, Sadie Ligon; brother, Kenneth Lindsey (TJ), sister, Susan Love; sister-in-law, Cheri Shook; and a host of nieces & nephews
She was preceded in death in death by her father, Charles Franklin Shook; mother, Mattie Rachel Lindsey Shook Harrison; siblings, Dell Shook, Robert Shook (Margaret), Naomi Shook Creasy, Twana Kilpatrick (Rickey); brother-in-law, Dwight Love and her favorite four-legged friend, Benji.
The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Charity Chapel Church. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Bro. Kenneth Reed and Bro. Matthew Reed speaking at the service. The burial will be at Crooked Oak Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be John Kalmbach, Jr., Adam Kalmbach, Mike Love, Chris Love, Ken Lindsey, and Tommy Lindsey.
