Mattie Faye Woodruff, 98, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Tuesday, November 05, 2013, at the Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. She was born November 24, 1914 in Prentiss County, MS to William Whitner and Ora Alice Jourdan Whitfield. She was a graduate of Burton High School and Mississippi State University. She was a retired teacher, having taught for thirty years. She was a member of the Burnsville United Methodist Church and The Order of the Eastern Star, where she served for many years and held a certificate of proficiency in the ritualistic work of the order. Visitation is scheduled for 6 until 8 PM on Thursday, November 7 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled 11 AM on Friday, November 8, 2013, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Mary Lou Tickell. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 1 son – Eddie Woodruff (Jane) of Burnsville; 1 daughter-in-law – Coco Woodruff of Florence, AL; 1 sister – Quindel Keith of Corinth; 3 sisters-in-law – Mae Ona Whitfield of Tampa, FL; Jean Randall (Randy) of Counce, TN; and Jeanette Whitfield of Jeffersonville, IN; 5 grandchildren – Brian Woodruff, Susan Storm, Amy Walker, Brett Woodruff, and Jason Woodruff; 7 great grandchildren – Brendan, Jessica, Caitlin, Whitner Grace, Blaine, Thomas, and Bennett; and one great great grandchild, Lucas. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Thomas Bennett Woodruff; a son, Jimmy Dean Whitfield; her parents, William Whitner and Ora Alice Jourdan Whitfield; and three brothers, Connie, Melton, and Grady Whitfield.
