Faye Parker Profile PhotoMattie Faye Parker, 80, of Hatton, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Chris Miller and Dexter Rutherford officiating. Burial will be at Providence Cemetery.

Born on April 21, 1943 to the late Herman and Nora King Heaps, Faye worked as a beautician for nearly 50 years and loved driving the school bus for 25 years. A member of Hatton Church of Christ, she loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Hutson Parker; children, Melvin (Rhonda) Parker, Jackie (Scott) Wilson, and Mike (Juanita) Parker; grandchildren, Ashley (Scott) Nix, Amanda (Scott) Daniel, Candice Parker, Chelsea (Troy) Green, Madison Wilson, Tim Odell; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Dean Wright, Jean Rutherford, and Sue Spruell; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Olen Heaps, and Leo Heaps; sisters, Mary Lou Lang, Betty Morris, and her twin sister, Maye Hood; and great-granddaughter, Madlyn Scoggin.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Borden, Jimmy Heaps, Roger Borden, Darrell Rutherford, Jonathan Thrasher, and Blake Addison. Honorary pallbearers are James Plaxco, Robert Hall, Dewey Thrasher, Tim Pierce, Hutson Hatton, Rodney Hopkins and Jeff Flannagin.

The family extends special thanks to the 2nd Floor nurses and staff at North Alabama Medical Center along with all of Faye’s doctors for their wonderful and loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hatton Church of Christ Building Fund.
