Matthew Edward “TuTu” “Grandpa Eddie” Hogan was born on February 6, 1964, to the late Ira Jerome Hogan II and Henrietta Carroll Hogan. He departed this life on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Helen Keller Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

He confessed his belief and faith in Christ and became a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, Sheffield, Alabama.

He graduated from Sheffield High School and worked for the Sheffield Parks and Recreation Department, where he retired after 22 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad and granddad. He had a heart of gold and a personality you couldn’t help but to love. He absolutely loved Alabama Football and Basketball.

He is proceeded in death by both his parents, Ira Jerome Hogan II and Henrietta Carroll Hogan, his sister, Patricia Ann Hogan, and his brother, Michael Tyrone Hogan, all of Sheffield, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his memories:

his wife, Christa “Lynne” Hogan of Tuscumbia, Alabama; two daughters, Shamaine Abernathy of Sheffield, Alabama and Erica Armstead of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; three sons, Christopher Armstead of Sheffield, Alabama, Demarcus Hogan, and Jamarcus Hogan, both of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; three bonus children, Kristen (Marvin) Jackson of Chicago Illinois, Gary “Mikey” Cole Jr. of Chicago Illinois, and Courtnee (Steven) Jackson of Springhill, Tennessee; one brother, Ivan (Rosie) Hogan of Sheffield, Alabama; six grandchildren, Niaria Abernathy, Christopher “Lil CA” Armstead, Nikyla Armstead, Khelani Armstead, Kody “Lil Kody” Marshall, and Karma Marshall; five bonus grandchildren, Khalil Bland, Kai Jackson, McKenzie Jackson, Skylar Jackson, and Kailani Jackson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
