Mary White Ferge, 84, of Somerville, passed from this life Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Somerville.
The daughter of the late James David White and Josie Annie Morrow White, she was a life-long resident of Fayette County and a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She had worked at Morris’ Grocery in Whiteville for 22 years and Warner’s Grocery for 4 years. Many times, she could be found helping others, in times of need, with her cooking.
She leaves a step-daughter, Mildred Shoemaker (Carl) of Hillville; two sons, Fernon Ferge (Connie) and Jeff Ferge, both of Somerville; four grandchildren, Justin Ferge (April), Clint Ferge (Amy), Allen Ferge and Kimberly Ferge, all of Somerville; two great-grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob Ferge of Somerville; four sisters, Helen Adair and Hazel Ferge, both of Somerville, Sue Childers and Dorothy Cannon, both of Memphis; and a brother, Howard White of Memphis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Thompson and Linda White; and two brothers, William and Dan White.
