Virginia Bean Profile PhotoMary Virginia Bean, age 82, of Jackson, TN entered the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Monday, December 16, 1940, in Maben, MS, she was the daughter of Oris and Erin Sisson. She received her associate degree from Wood Junior College in Mathiston, MS and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lambuth College, in Jackson, TN. She retired from TDOT after 29 years as a Right-of-Way Agent.

Virginia was saved as a teenager and above all else valued her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Upon moving to Jackson, she belonged to Bethany Christian Church and later a longtime member of Lambuth Memorial UMC. Through the years, she became a member of Henderson First Methodist Church, and most recently attended Lester’s Chapel UMC. Her testimony and passion for loving the Lord was evident as she taught numerous Sunday School and Bible classes for various ages, sang in the choir, served in missions, and led numerous Bible and prayer groups. In her spare time, she loved music and reading. Family and friends were always the focus of her energy and yet she was always willing to help others in need. Never afraid to ask a question or share her knowledge, Virginia believed any amount of education was never a waste.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Ann Sisson and a brother, William (Bill) Allen Sisson (Sandra).

Those to forever cherish her memory are her son, Alan Bean of Nashville, TN; daughter, Cindy Roberson (Brad) of Jackson, TN; brother, Thomas Gene Sisson (Margie) Birmingham, AL; three grandchildren, Taylor Bean of Fort Worth, TX, Jake Roberson (Brittany) of Henderson, TN and Hope Roberson of Jackson, TN; two great-grandchildren, Adeleigh and Everett, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
