Mary Stringer Abney, age 95 of Chattanooga, TN passed away on March 19, 2023. She was born on October 24, 1927 to the late James Polk and Cora Biddle Stringer. She attended Northside Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN and was a graduate of DeKalb County High School.
Graveside services for Mary Abney will be at 2:30 P.M., on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Pine Grove Cemetery with Bro. Mitchell Reaves officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00P.M. at Wilson Funeral Home.
She is survived by her children, Tim (Debbie) Abney, Debbie (Tom) Abney Ritter, and Vickie (Cliff) Abney Ward; grandchildren, Marcie (John) Carroll, Chelsea Abney, Emily Abney, Sarah Beth Abney, Tom (Rayna) Ritter, Jr., Amy (Waylon) Weatherholt, Cooper Ward, and Jeff (Kelly) Ward, 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister Margaret Stringer Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Edward Abney; and seven siblings.
