Mary Smith, age 71, passed away on Monday, November 25,2024, at her residence in Athens, Alabama.
Mary was born on Saturday, August 29, 1953, in Athens, Alabama to the late Marion Clayton Lovell and Doris Evelyn Roberson Swanner. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband David Allen Smith.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. Mary also enjoyed working hard at her job in assembly at Group Dekko. Mary was of the Baptist faith and a member of Elkton Baptist Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, one brother, Mark Lovell, one nephew and one niece.
She is survived by four sons, Dale (Rhonda) Smith, Dennis Smith, Derrick Smith, David (Jill) Smith, twelve grandchildren, Dylan, Kaitlyn, Braden, Michael, Paige, Daniel, Derica, Brea, Brittanie, Kole, Karson, and Robert, also twenty great-grandchildren, three brothers, Mike Lovell, Marion “PeeWee” Lovell, David (Jane) Lovell, as well as five sisters, Marjorie Davis, Myra (Jack) Swanner, Martha Lovell, Marcia “Katie” Barnett, and Velena Lovell..
A visitation service will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A chapel service will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Reunion Cemetery in Athens, Alabama. Bro. Bruce Barber will be officiating the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
