Mary Sharp Propes, 90, of Huntsville, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024. Mary graduated from Alexandria High School and Jacksonville State University, where she met her future husband, Lt. Col. Norman Propes.

Mary was a homemaker and Army wife for many years. When Norman retired in Huntsville, she went into the real estate business. Mary earned her broker’s license, and purchased and consolidated offices to form Accent Realty, North Alabama’s largest Century 21 franchise.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, James and Jessie Sharp; sister, Sara Owens; and brothers, Michael Sharp and Hughes Sharp.

Survivors include her sons, Greg Propes (Denise) of Huntsville, and Brian Propes of Whitehouse, TX; four grandchildren, Lindsey Propes, Haley Saldivar (Raul), Stephanie Orlando (Dante), and Taylor Propes (Lily); three great-grandchildren, Dante and Peyton Orlando, and Xander Saldivar; and brother, Thomas Sharp.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
