Mary Ruth Yielding, 82, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born October 12, 1941, in Itawamba County, to Prentiss and Edelweiss Bradley Jackson. She was a charter member of the Tremont First Baptist Church, where she was the church secretary for over 55 years. She retired from Tremont High School, where she was a math teacher for 32 years. After retirement, she taught six years at Faith Christian School. She also tutored many people over the years and also helped many others get their GED, teaching night classes for over 20 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing games on her iPad, working crossword puzzles, and was a prayer warrior for many. But her life was her family and her beloved church. Her children knew they were expected in church every Sunday, and afterwards, she always prepared a meal. Going to RuRu’s after church for dinner wasn’t optional and was a long-standing tradition.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, at the Tremont First Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Paul Graham and Bro. Randy Spencer officiating. Burial will be in the Tremont First Baptist Church Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
